Examinations

Apply for IPAT designation, CFP designation or AIPA designation

There are three examination stages with the Institute of Incorporated Public Accountants; Professional 1, Professional 2 and Final Admittance Examinations.

The Institute offer recognition to students who pass each stage of the IIPA Examination process.

Professional 1 (not currently examined)

  • Module 1; Accounting Framework
  • Module 2; Economics
  • Module 3; Company and Business Law
  • Module 4; Taxation
  • Module 5; Management Accounting
  • Module 6; Business Information Systems

Incorporated Public Accounting TechnicianStudents who successfully pass the Professional 1 stage of the examination process are entitled to apply for the award “Incorporated Public Accounting Technician”. On approval, successful students will be entitled to use the designated letters “IPAT”.

 

Professional 2

  • Module 7; Financial Accounting
  • Module 8; Financial Management
  • Module 9; Strategic Management

Certified Finance ProfessionalStudents who successfully pass the Professional 2 stage of the examination process are entitled to apply for the award “Certified Finance Professional”. On approval, successful students will be entitled to use the designated letters “CFP”.


Final Admitting Examinations

  • Module 10; Advanced Financial Accounting
  • Module 11; Advanced Management Accounting
  • Module 12; Advanced Taxation

New AssociateStudents who successfully pass the Final Admittance Examinations stage of the examination process are entitled to apply for “Associate membership” of the Institute. On approval, successful students will be entitled to use the designated letters “AIPA”.

Electives

Those wishing to operate as Statutory Auditors will also need to take the Auditing electives:

  • Professional 2 – Auditing
  • Final Admitting Exam – Audit Practice

Please note that these can be completed at the same time as the other exams or can be completed after qualification.
