Catherine Whelan AIPA Incorporated Public Accountant, Member in Practice, Principal of Canning Whelan & Co., Crofton Court, Naas was instrumental in initiating a project with like-minded individuals in the community of Naas. Together they realised a dream to successfully create a special Christmas experience through the build of a fully accessible sonata grotto for children, street entertainment, activities and Christmas craft markets for the whole community to enjoy. The project began in 2015 with sonata arriving for one day via a vintage car. In 2016 Santa came for four days in the vintage car, the fire engine and on this sleigh. The small committee was also joined by the members of Kildare County Council in 2016 and together they brought about the transformation of Naas through the addition of some €82,000 worth of Christmas lights.
